BIODIVERSITY NET GAIN ASSESSMENTS
At HT Ecology we guide clients through every stage, from the initial baseline assessment to the Biodiversity Net Gain Assessment submitted with the planning application. We carry out habitat surveys including River Condition Surveys, calculate baseline and post-development values using the statutory metric, and advise on the most cost-effective route to achieving the required gain, whether on site, off site, or through a combination of the two.
We have extensive experience with biodiversity net gain having worked on projects that formed part of the government's biodiversity offsetting pilot in 2012.
The greatest savings are made early. By involving us at the design stage, we can help shape a scheme that meets its BNG obligations efficiently, avoids unnecessary off-site costs and stands up to scrutiny from the local planning authority. We also prepare the habitat management and monitoring plans needed to secure and demonstrate the gain across the full 30-year period.
